I’ve implemented a new booking system, which also has payment processing capabilities. One-on-one coaching, conditioning and some freeform classes will be offered on a pay-as-you-go basis, but most students will enroll in 4-6 week courses with a specific focus and goal. These courses will require a commitment (with a deposit paid upon registration and the balance due by start of the first class in the series).

Curriculum/Class Descriptions

• Lyra 101 - This introduction to lyra will teach you the fundamentals of aerial hoop, including spinning, ways to mount and get down from the hoop, simple poses, as well as an overview of form and safety.
• Lyra 102 - This class is a follow-up to Lyra 101, building on the fundamentals of aerial hoop, including inversions, balance, backbends and splits, as well as added emphasis on conditioning and transfer to other apparatus.
• All “A”s - Angels, Amazons & Ankles: This course focuses on common moves in which your body leaves the bar, how to get in and out of the positions, and how they work on other apparatus.
• Backbends & Splits - Contortion: This course focuses on common moves in which your body folds backward or opens wide, how to get in and out of the positions, and how they work on other apparatus.
• Balance - ”Resting” Poses: This course focuses on balance poses, getting in and out of them creatively and gracefully, and how they can be used for conditioning and on other apparatus.
• Get On Top! - Rope work above the lyra, single point and double point. Transfer to other apparatus, including sling, aerial rope, and possibly trapeze/chain/net.
• Inversions - Turn It Upside Down: This course focuses on common moves in which your body goes upside down, how to get in and out of the positions, and how they work on other apparatus.
• Muscle Moves - The Hard Stuff: This advanced course focuses on strength and stamina intensive moves, how to get in and out of the positions, and how to execute them safely.
• Conditioning - Strength training that will kick your ass!
• Private Sessions
  -Technique & Application Coaching – Drill on the moves that are giving you a hard time.
  -Choreography Coaching – Working on an act? Let’s smooth out that choreography!
  -Private Instruction – One-on-one (or two) private classes.
  -Orientation Session – New to aerial work, or at least lyra? Take an hour of one-on-one instruction to see if it’s right for you.

How to Reserve Class Time

1. Find the class/course/workshop you’d like to take on the Book Your Class page.
2. Book your spot. You’ll be asked to sign in to the registration system and pay a deposit (usually $15) to secure your spot in the session.
3. Pay the balance by the start of the session.
   • If you want to pay in person, you can pay via cash or check. I also use the nifty Square credit/debit processing for payment in person.
   • You can buy a class pass within the booking system. If you do this in advance of booking the class, it’s going to cover your entire series.
   • You can prepay online with Google Checkout or PayPal.
4. If you need to cancel or reschedule, I prefer you transfer your prepaid class credit. I’ll refund if absolutely necessary.

Explore how your body can dance seductively on an aerial hoop! It’s not just about the tricks you do, but how you do them! This 2-Hour Workshop will teach you how to sequence basics skills while introducing the art of striptease on an aerial hoop!

There are many similarities between the lyra (aerial hoop) and pole; similar dismounts mounts and dismounts, leg holds, and hangs too. In addition to posing, spinning, and inverting, focus on this workshop will be movement quality, and stage presence. Includes: warm-up, cool down, and some aerial conditioning exercises!

Performances will occur periodically throughout the evening. There will be great music, Bellissima’s great food, beautiful people, pool table and tasty beverages!

I’m also considering partnering with some other facilities (a gym, dance or pole studio) to add some additional classes in different environments.
