There were over 20 body painted performers, actors and models with fire, belly dance, martial arts and live body painting. It also featured a substantial art show, and there were cupcakes from Sugar Dolls and jewelry for sale.

It was a fundraising event: the Majority of proceeds will be sent to Cali, Colombia to initiate “The Alchemy Project” an idea that will fund a reoccurring Music and Art Festivals for impoverished youth.

In whole, pretty neat. Here’s a video of my second fire performance.

Backed by a live acoustic quartet, in the midst of the crowd with all eyes locked and loaded, Sadie delivers an extremely sexy and deliciously haunting performance that infuses sensuality and desire in the air.

And I think I’m going to be interviewed by Body By Burlesque sometime soon. She saw the Masters of Vaudeville show in Asheville and posted one of the Bang! videos, too!

Lastly, a good friend is embarking on a huge life change. Chris Warner is closing Alcove, and Creative Loafing gave him a great writeup. It mentions that Blast-Off came into its own there.

INSPIRE, INCITE, IGNITE!
This Exhibit serves as a 10 year retrospective look into the instigated art world of Charlie Smith. the exhibit will featuring curated works of experimental and fine art mashed with a the diverse fire and circus arts scene of the South East and beyond!

The Art of Such n Such is a collaborative experiment. The Vision is to create an art space involving the viewer in a participatory way breaking the boun…daries between the art, the artists and the participants whom enter the spaces. We love working together sharing our ideas and innovations while having fun and instigating artistic interaction. We push art to another level reaching for more of whats out there so come by to see and be part of our collaborative play ground.

This will include a mass collective of visual and performance artists that will create a living flaming fiesta of sorts that will incorporate all of the local arts communities to celebrate together in an urban city center if ya get my drift….

Amazing stuff in this show… collaborative art. Come by between 7 and 11. The band is The Goldest.
