DISCOWEEN is a ’70s themed-costume party, which is a benefit for Canine Companions for Independence, hosted by Fred Schneider of the B 52′s. The October 28th disco bash, take place at Paris on Ponce so dust off those platforms and get ready to do the Hustle! Vicki Powell is our DJ! And the prizes for the best costume and for best dancer are iPads! The iPads were a generous donation by GA Tech professor, Dr. Melody Moore Jackson. *AND here are more groovy reasons to get down with Discoween: Admission gets you: an open bar, ’70s themed bites by Dennis Dean Catering, a photo booth, GoGo Ghoul dancers, Fred Schneider will debut his new single with the Superions titled “Batbaby”, a fabulous raffle to include vintage Gucci and an original Elton John framed photograph, also our favorite Drag Queens will be selling 70′s themed items like candy cigs, afro wigs and discoball earrings…

… and Big Wicked: Atlanta’s sexiest Halloween party – Q100’s Big Wicked on Saturday, October 29th at Reign Nightclub in midtown! Aerialists will be flying over head like bats in the night, the luscious Dames Aflame will be performing their enticing dances, and attendees get a chance to win thousands of dollars in the Sexiest, Scariest, Funniest & Most Creative costume contests!

• July 30 - Fundraiser for Charlie Smith’s The Firebirds of the Fifth Direction Burning Man Project

Blast-Off Burlesque will host pre-show and lobby entertainment, including special guest Grinder Nova and a silent auction of Tura Satana-related art and memorabilia. Be a part of the Varla costume contest, the beefcake muscle show or the all-girl arm wrestling championship! Prizes from Taboo-La-La’s sponsor, Libertine, include great treats from Tokyo Milk!

All proceeds of the silent auction and any donations to the Tura shrine will go to Varla Films, helping to complete the documentary about her life and to continue her legacy. The silent auction will feature classic 8×10 photos from Tura’s personal collection and art from Mitch O’Connell, Big Toe, Bethany Marchman, Zteven, Dave Cook and others.
